Glossop Caravans on fire

Apparently, there is a large fire raging at Glossop Caravans, even as I type.

At least 20 caravans destroyed, with several gas bottle explosions. That indicates stored vans, which is tough luck for their owners.

Sorry to hear this.I hope the fire service soon get it under control without any casualties. It's Christmas after all and this will cause a lot of extra work for many.

It is sad news indeed for this company and the people who store their 'vans there.

A caravan storage area about 200 yards away from our home went up in flames last December and again in January. Fun and games for some young idiots. It had over 200 vans in storage at the time and most of them were lost. It was quite frightening seeing all the gas bottles flying through the air with flames tagged to them.

I think it is time that new laws were brought into force making it illegal for gas cylinders to be left in lockers when 'vans are in storage. One van goes up and they are sited so closely together that the knock on effect is disatrous.
