Hiya, I subscribed to Practical Caravan and received a lovely selection of Glym Products in a smart bag.

We used the shampoo and polish on both our car and caravan and now we have black strips running down both. I know this as the strips an my caravan are in areas that the polish was used, as the area I must have missed (good portion of the roof)there are no strips there.

Proviously we used an alternative product and have never had this problem....

Any ideas?

It's a 1993 Abi Jubilee Rallyman. The streaks are all over, not just around or below the seals.

Hi all

We've asked Autoglym if they can help answer these posts. They have suggested that you get in touch with them directly.

The person to speak with is Lyn Cooper. Her email address is lcoo@autoglym.co.uk and her phone number is 01462 687443. We have been offering Autoglym kits as subscriptions gifts for many years and they are very popular. This is the first time I have ever heard of a problem, so I hope that there is a simple explanation.

If you need any further help, do post again, I'll keep an eye out for this topic.

Best

HI Jack.

I have used autoglym products for many years and haven'y had any of the problems you describe.

I wonder if there might be an adverse reaction to a previous product used, for instance when you may of used a black trim enhancing product that you find in may "Quid" a go type shops.

I have known these to make rubber seals go tacky and then when washed a black streak occur's.

I would invite an Autoglym van sales rep to have a look and advise you. There are many franchise reps around selling to your local garages. You could either contact Auto glym or speak to your local garage to find out when the van is next passing.

Good luck.

There is always the possibility that because after treating the van it is cleaner than before, the black streaks that we all seem to get are more noticable against a lighter background.

Bit farmyard I know

Use most of the Glym products and I get the same said black streaks

but I have to admit most of mine are either under the windows, vents, and the gutters (think thats what they are called) but the strange one is the front locker.

Would probably agree with John_boy the more you clean the worse it gets.
