Hi all, Taking our first trip in our caravan in a few weeks. Obviously being our first trip we want things to be as easy as possible so dont want to go to far as we have a 1 & 3 year old, Also totally new to towing so want an easy site to get too (no narrow lanes or hillstarts!!!)
Would be great if site could have shop, bar and kids play area, not to worried about pool really.
Any help would be great, Thanks Chris

If it's your first trip and you haven't tried and tested the van thoroughly try and stay fairly close to the dealers !
If you purchased it from a private individual a handy caravan accessory shop might come in useful anyway.

Hi Chris - I have been to the Plassy site and can thoroughly recommend it. I gave it so much praise previously that Lord B. thought I was after a freebe on the site. It is a beautiful site and the toilet/amenity blocks are spotless. One thing that impressed me whilst staying there was on our final night the site owner came to enquire if we had enjoyed our stay and was there any complaints. I thought this personal touch was marvellous - in all our years of caravanning we had never experienced this before. I am sure that if you were to go there you would be very pleasantly surprised.

Wherever you go I am sure you will enjoy your first jaunt out in the caravan - have a great time.

Hi Chris,
We went to the Plassey a couple of years ago It was an excellent site and at that time it did have a small bar which was reasonable priced and if I remeber right it wasnt a bad pint. Just a couple of points though if you do decide to go to the Plassey wait for the brown road signs directing you to the site as you come down the dual carriageway (A483) dont follow your sat nav it will take you through the centre of Wrexham which is what I did not very pleasent as there were loads of roadworks and quite narrow in places, also on arrival on the site there is a long drive with speed humps careful over them, then at the top of the drive assuming it hasnt been altered is a sharp left turn to the site office, make sure you take a wide swing out in order to get round watch the caravan through your mirror on the passager side and take it steady.
Or you could try Bon-y-Wendon, Llanddulas its a nice site a easy drive down the 55 the site 1 minute off the A55 and you are there they pitched my van for me with a small tractor just be aware of traffic noise from the A55 and trains (they dont run all night) that run past the site although these never kept us awake. Just one other negative watch the wind if you have an awning as theres no shelter from the sea, I had my awning wrecked here but it was October at the time but all in all a nice clean site.
Cheers Muggler

Another one you may want to consider is the Camping and Caravan Club site at Delemere Forrest, should only be a short drive from Chester and you have the benefit of Harringtons just down the road should you need to buy/replace equipment. Always found it to be a well run and tidy site.
