Government in waiting.

David Cameron as announced that there will be jobs for the girls in his government. Now he is discriminating to pander to the PC and "BURN YOUR BRA" brigade. Even female Tories have condemned his plans, one saying they are patronising and another said they would feel grossly insulted if they got a cabinet position just because she was a female and the leader of the party needed to play the numbers game. Another accused the idea as being more PC than anything Labour has dreamed up.

Apparently it is illegal to show "positive discrimination" in favour of women. Guess what though, the law doesn't cover Parliament :O) A cabinet post is classed as a Prime Ministers gift so not covered by employment law .... hehheh!

It gets better every day. What a wonderful country.

LB I can never get my head around this positive discrimination thing and why at times it is allowed ,for the police etc to recruit ethnic minorities and only this week I saw an advert for a local authority job that was only available to ethnic minorities as these were under represented.

Ahhhhh ........... BUT ...... the people that write these job adverts are very crafty.

They dont say that a job is

"Only available to ethnic minorities as these were under represented"

what they say is (or something very similar):

"Ethnic minorities and female applicants are particularly encouraged to apply as these were under represented"

It reads completely differently but I think we all know what it REALLY means.

Steve

(now waiting for the namby pamby, wimby bimby oh so PC brigade to hang me)

"(now waiting for the namby pamby, wimby bimby oh so PC brigade to hang me)"

Don't be surprised. Although he asked for Chit Chat to be taken out of the PC forum and was advised by the Mods not to read it he still does :O)

Meister,

This ad was as i said quite open so they clearly are allowed to do it in the name of Diversity (is that the term they use)
