Grill ignition problems

I've had a problem for a couple of years with our grill (couple of years? yes, you know ignore it it wiull go away.....)!!

Namely that it lights but goes out when you release the 'push in' on the controls. At one time it would stay lit after holding for a minute - but now it doesn't.

I understand that this is a problem with the termo coupler? Has anyone got ideas and can this fixed by a DIYer????

A thermo couple is heat sensitive capilliary device which closes a solenoid gas valve when it cools i.e. when the flame is blown out. They don't last forever, but they're usually not expensive, about 3quid. I could be telling a blatant lie here, but I think they are generally universal fitting, but you'd have to check on that.
