Hi

We are shortly going on holiday and will be staying on the Grin Low CC site near Buxton, Derbyshire before moving down to the Longleat CC site.

Has anyone been to these sites? if so any comments (good or bad) please

Thanks

We use Grin Low a lot. A great site, excellent walking and first class wardens with Pete and Linda.Facilities are always warm and clean.

Buxton has a lot going for it and caters for all tastes.

Enjoy the whole thing . It's excellent.

Cheers

We visited Longleat CC site last year and had a wonderful time. The site, as you would expect, was very well run and all the amenities were spotless.

Although we were there for a week we only took the car out on one occasion --- to visit the dreaded Supermarket for supplies.

The rest of the time we spent aimlessly ambling around the immediate area on foot. Longleat grounds are accessible after a very short walk from the site entrance and it has plenty of things to see and do whatever age you are.

I am sure you will have a great time.

I used to work in the Lion reserve, I still live and work within a mile or two of Longleat. It is well worth a visit. Especially if you have kids.

Enjoy

I would fully agree with Bigfoot. Longleat is well worth a visit.

Sit outside your caravan and listen to the seals being fed during the daytime. Sit outside in the evenings and listen the roar of the lions - which can go on all night long. Kids, of all, ages will love it.

Phil,

We just love longleat. We were there for 5 days at the start of July and wished we could have stayed longer. Lots of things to do. Get a passport ticket then wander in and out of longleat at your leisure. Go for a long walk in the evening to walk off the BBQ. I promise you'll enjoy it!

As for the other site, I've never been. But, after reading the comments I must pay it a visit sometime.

We're going to Longleat at October half term and, having read this thread, can't wait.

Been saving Tesco vouchers for our 'passports'. If anyone isn't aware, if you use them for days out (theme parks, castles etc) you get 4 times the face value. You have to trade them in for specific vouchers in advance though and can't just hand the Tesco vouchers in at the attraction. Well worth doing as it'll only cost us
