Am going there 1st August, travelling from Exeter is it better to stay on A38 and go down A383 or follow their directions and go down A382.Would rather stay on A38 even if its longer unless there is a complication that is not obvious. Also has anyone on here used the site?

Hi Deli Dave,

There is a small complication-there's no slip/junction off the A38 onto the A383!!!

There directions are confusing me, they say take A382 which on my road atlas and on Google takes you to either Newton Abbot or Bovey Tracey.(They may be right as it was the main road to Plymouth before the A38 was built).

But don't panic as you have two alternatives,

1)Take the slip sign posted A382 (Drumbridges roundabout)Newton Abbot, Bovey Tracey, Trago Mills, go around the roundabout take the 3rd exit marked Bickington and Liverton, mind the very sharp bends, continue for about 2 miles, at the T junction swing a left onto the A383 signed Newton Abbot and your site is less than a mile on your left

2)Continue on the A38 and take the Ashburton turn off,go over the flyover/bridge turn right and go back up the A38, take the next exit signed Newton Abbot (passing two minor exits as they are our famous country lanes!!).You are now on the A383 with about 1.5 miles to go.

The 2nd option is about 3 miles longer but it does,nt really matter which one you take as they are both suitable for caravans.

Lastly no I have never stayed on the site but as I only live a stones throw from it the O/H would do her nut if I suggested we actually stayed there.I do have a meal and a drink (or two) there

on occasion's and talk to fellow vanners pitched up and have not heard any negatives.

Hope this helps and sorry it's a long reply.
