I wanted to cook up some Brussel sprouts and dip them in melted chocolate, but Mrs H says No. Bah Humbug.

Living in a small village has its advantages as do not get bothered with Halloween trick & treats. We don't put up any decorations or leave the porch light on.

Kind of an unwritten code in our Village.
If you put a pumpkin out then you are fair game. No Pumpkin you don't get bothered

Can’t think when we last had anyone knock on our door for Trick or Treat. Years ago we put some chilli flavoured sweets in the bucket. Nowadays with those affected by allergies I wouldn’t do it.

Things change. 20 years ago we had teenagers often miserable. They faded out, and then for many years, we had little ones supported by their parents, (sometimes keeping back). The kids enjoyed it.

But for the last couple of years, we just have a trickle. So I end up with loads of sweets to feed my diabetes.

We had roughly 60 customers trick and treat customers to our home last night and pick up our Halloween prefilled sweet bags .of pick and mix candy .

Personally I cannot stand Halloween and it’s commercialism.

My wife says this year we had older kids 3 or five at a time coming . for there Halloween bags

We had around 40, all below age 11 I think. All with parents. Most dressed up.

One set of girls [aged about 10-11years] when they came last night stated they had two older boys following them, trying to unnerve them .

We had only about 5 groups of children around and took the lanterns down by 8 pm, so thankfully I have a lovely tub of sweets and chocolate to see me through until Christmas. 👏👏👏

We were at our daughters in Motherwell last night and the numbers were down, A teacher at the children's school said a lot of parents could not afford the costumes or make them so kept the children in.
The grandchildren were out but the amount given and number of houses giving was well down. Looks like a sign of the times and this was in a theoretically prosperous area.

My daughter who lives 20 lives away told us there were people traveling to their locality parking all over the place, and it was nonstop crowds with a lot of teenagers who were taking far more than their fair share of the goodies.

Personally we had zero interruptions.

OH always makes up several large goody bags and puts a pumpkin out,
we live on an A road and have never had one taker
