Halogen Ovens are they any good

Was thinking of buying a mini oven with 2 rings on the top, then I saw this oven advertised in Argos. I have heard of them but dont know if they are any good. Also what kind of dishes can be cooked in them? Can U cook chickens, stews, pizza etc. in them ? Not to mention pies. Just what dishes does it cook etc. Anyone got one of these and can help me please. At £46.99 it sounds a bargain to £89.00 for the mini oven.

Decided to take the plunge and bought the JML Halogen Oven for the caravan not using it though till after christmas its a christmas present to myself . Seems no one out there has used or heard of an Halogen Oven not had any replies to my thread but just in case I,ll keep on looking in on here. Happy caravanning...

We bought a JML Halogen oven to use in the caravan and after experimenting and we use it at home more than our main oven. The principal I use is - Low rack = oven cooking ie warming pies etc, roasting joints, potatoes etc. Judge teperature settings as if using a normal fan oven. The high rack = grilling ie chops, sausage, bacon. I generally use the high setting for this. The recipes that come with it are minimal - so get it out and experiment. I have since bought a second one to keep in the caravan

Hi Leslie, Thanks for the info on the JML halogen oven i,ve decided to wrap it up for christmas * just love to open anything on chrissy morn* so will have to wait until then. I,m going to experiment with it firstly at home then take it down to the caravan in March. I,m looking forward to using it and shall take note of the use of the top and bottom racks like u suggest. If you,ve bought another one then it must be good. My oven in the house has just broke so really I could do with using it now. Roll on chrissy morning thats all i can say.

Thanks. erica.

Just bought a family size 12L from Asda £30.00 . only done a couple of things in it as yet but seems good. Did roast beef joint and veg last night , need a bit of fine tuning but not bad. Does bacon nice !!

We have a large size halogen oven in the house and have just bought a smaller version for the caravan.HIMSELF will not barbecue so I have a George Foreman grill and griddle and the halogen oven so I can cook outside the van.Our original halogen gave out just in the guarantee period so it was replaced F.O.C. I like to use these gadgets as it gets too warm in the van with the gas oven on.It also makes for healthy eating "no fry ups"!!!!

Can,t wait now to use my Halogen oven. If we like it then I,m going to splash out for one for the house.
Hoping to use ours in the awning and save on gas. Going try roasts and everything I can possibly think of in it.
How long do u set the timer for say a roast? Then if I cook bacon on it as well can I cook other food in it as well? Like tomatoes etc. sausages for a cooked breakfast.? Getting impatient now for christmas so I can use it.
