A friend of mine who has had a caravan for a long time advised me not to leave the hand brake pulled on all winter whilst it is not being used. His view is that the hand brake can get stuck on the brake drums.
Our van is not stored on a drive. It's on a hardstand behind our house.
What do others do with the hand brake when laid up? Thanks

Your friends advice is very good indeed. You should never leave the parking brake applied on anything (cars included) if the vehicle is not going to move for an extended period.
Corner steadies down and wheels chocked.

A slight variant - handbrake off, Alko wheel lock on and steadies down - so wheels not chocked but the drive is virtuall level.

Wheels chocked and handbrake off (definitely not the other way round as some have suggested :ROFLMAO: )

We use to leave handbrake off and wheels chocked and like someone else steadies down .
