Have you got Bluetooth speakers?

Hi everyone,
We were just wondering how many people use Bluetooth speakers in their caravans, or on bike rides, picnics and beach barbecues? It's great having loads of music on our phones, tablets and laptops, but as soon as you unplug your headphones and share the music with other people, it seems to sound a bit thin and tinny.

So we're pleased that our caravan accessory tester James Stanbury has been trying out a good range of portable speakers. The full results are in the March issue (on sale from Thursday, 28 January), but you can read some of the Bluetooth speaker reviews online here.

We use ours at home but wouldn't dream of using one outside and disturbing the peace and quiet of our surroundings. Bad enough having children and dogs without music as well.

It all depends on the music thats being played, everything in moderation. Including, dogs children and friends.

Being serious, I still use a small round speaker that plugs into my MP3 player, that is about 4 watts, and I try not to annoy others, but was told be a French camper, one evening, (who I made friends with next day) that I was a "Merdi Tete" :eek:hmy:

Age is no barrier to becoming a member of the Grumpy Club. Look at any two year old, whose been told they can't watch the green parties political broadcast! or the teenager who has to be reminded that dinner can be eaten without a phone in their hand. Or the traffic enforcement officer who finds the car they've eye-bald as having been parked illegally has a blue badge :)

But I think the entrance requirements should quite strict, You should apply by phoning a premium rate number, :eek:hmy: which has at least three layers of menu options, ultimately offering the applications customer service, which tells you, you are tenth in the queue interspersed with advertising from ambulance chasers, PPI claims handlers and double/triple glazing companies :woohoo:

When you do get through you your told by even phoning the number and hanging on so long your not grumpy enough to join.

I have a bluetooth Bose speaker and it goes really loud with a thumping base… but I don’t use it like that. I also have a small potable DB radio which has a facility to in plug an MP3. I think that the key is consideration for others; that is not a difficult thing.

My kids have Phillips Shockbox speakers - they're splash and drop proof, and sound fab. They can be Bluetooth linked to make a stereo system, too. I was really surprised that they didn't feature in the Speaker article. We've had several different types, and these are by far the best in the price range - about £60 - £70.
