Heating water on gas

I have just returned to caravan this evening and tried to heat the water on gas. Normally I just turn the dial down and it clicks and the green light comes on. 15 mins later ... Hot water. However tonight turned the dial downwards as normal and no light or click. Any advice
 
Is your battery charged?

On my caravan the battery has to be in a decent state of charge for the water heater to work on gas, in order for the thermostat to operate.

If the battery is too low, the water heater won't operate on gas.
 
From what you have said so far it seems that you have a failure of the PCB that controls the gas side of the water heater.
Unless you know exactly what you are doing, it is time to get a mobile engineer in to sort it out.
