Initial cost isn't everything. What about running costs eg insurance, mpg, vehicle excise duty, etc?

my two grand terrano on a 53 plate does the trick. Pretty it aint and it guzzles the fuel around town but it isn't too bad cruising along a motorway or A road and it doesn't drink too much more when tugging the caravan. 1,3000 on the clock now
