We haven't had the problem but I've heard of it before.

The reply is a typical manufacturers cop out

Remember Alko and BPW knew nowt about wheels coming off.

Platitudes or fobber offering seem to abound .

An essential feature of most roof lights made in the last 10 or 20 years is the provision of permanent ventilation, even in the closed position. This measure helps prevent the build up of dampness in the air and fabrics of caravans but an insect or leaf may, on the odd occasion, find it's way through the ventilation openings. Surely an occasional visitor is preferable to a damp and smelly interior.

Don't change the design Heki.

We look down onto the roof of our caravan and it amazes me that there is no form of seal round the Heki yet we have had no leaks on three of them in a toatal of 5 years .

Two on this van and one on the previous one.

Our new Bailey sadly will not have a full size Heki over the fixed and the much vaunted Bailey roof which was advertised with several people standing on the top is said by Bailey to be not strong enough to allow the after market fitting of one.

thats ok Mike but you should have the choice to have ir not have ventilation, besides when you use your van on a regular basis you get enough circulation simply by opening and shuting the door

Know what you mean John we would have prefered to have the Bailey but we too got the same answer regarding fitting an air con unit

Hi Copaul , i bet you find lots of little bits on your fixed bed dont you ? i have and know 2 other people with storms who suffer ,i think it because we use light coloured bedding , i think they all blow things through , but elsewhere in the van the dont show up, the only thing i can see to cure the problem is stick draft excluder on the heki itself so it makes a seal against the ridge
