Warm welcome to the forum!
I too have had major spinal surgery and caravanning helped me cope with recovery. Just take it steady and always be mindful to treat your back with care.
One thing I would recommend is getting a motor mover, which is worth its weight in gold, as pushing and pulling a caravan will be out of the question for you now.
Unless you are on a serviced pitch, you will find a lightweight trolley is handy, which you can obtain from caravan accessory shops or online, to transport the toilet waste container to the disposal point.
Aquarolls come with a handle to help roll the container to and from the fresh water point. The waste water container should have wheels, making it easier to empty.
We bought a Raskelf topper to go on top of the caravan mattress, which I found too firm. The topper is very good quality and gives me a good nights sleep and I can recommend it.
You'll never regret becoming a caravanner!
