Hi all, we are Carole and David Brindal. We live on the coast of North Norfolk in a small village called West Runton. I have no doubt that many of you know our village and have even driven past the front of our house which is right on the road that leads to most of the camping sites.
We are about to retire, later in the year, and intend to spend our retirement living on a narrowboat. However, prior to the total 'shutdown' we would like to see a lot of the UK that we haven't yet visited. Our plan is to tour in a moderately sized motorhome for around 6-12 months while our boat is being built.
Having, just the other day, purchased my first ever copy of Practical Motorhome I realise that I know very little ie 'squat' about the .... what do you even call it... pastime... hobby... jolly... way of life.
We have much to learn so questions will follow................ :)
So we will 'get read in' and talk soon.

Welcome, both of you.
Looking forward to getting to know you, and hearing how you get on.
I should warn you, though, that there's a serious danger: Once you've tried motorhoming, you might change your mind about the narrow boat!

Norfolk is a lovely county - Only about 1Hr45 for us from Stamford, Lincs area

We are regulars at Kelling Heath even though the family static has been sold, it is a great base for a motorhome

We have been visiting West Runton, and just booked the CC site at Incleboro Fields - the beaches at Overstrand and Cromer are really nice.

Hope you enjoy the motorhome lifestyle

The biggest problem you will have , is not having a fixed address! How will you register with a doctor?
I know when you first consider retiring, it all seems lovely, no work , no set routine etc BUT there are other things to consider , and no fixed abode , is a very big problem
Have to agree with other comments , that a motor home and a small flat or house , are better than the restrictions of water!! We had a bat prior to MH, Ok we we also have a house to live in, but spending 3 months or so on a boat was more than enough at any one time
