Hi All,
Just got my first van it is an oldish one but will suit our needs it is a Abbey 215. 1990 MY.
We like going up to the west coast of Scotland but have had far to many wet holidays in tent so going to give this a go.
All the bits seem to work well but need to post a few question soon.

Welcome to the forum. after afew trips you'll wonder what took you so long to make the change. The Technical section is a good place to get lots of questions answered.

Wecome and a Happy New Caravanning Year!
Our first van was a 2 berth Abbey Lincoln which we gutted and did up, after we gave up camping. That was 4 years ago, nearly, and we moved on to a 6 berth as the Abbey was way too small.
Hope you enjoy your new hobby - come and meet some of us at the PC Rally - 3rd time for us - we love it!

Hi Spider , I too am new on the forum , I have been using caravans for a long time but only short distances , I own a military lorry and live in a caravan weekends only, and then only about 35 miles away from my home due to the fuel cost and probability of breakdowns , I have been using a 19 ft Coachman that is camouflaged but recently i have purchasecd a 1944 morris c8 and the coachman is too long so i am building a smaller more military looking one .

Hi Egg, welcome to the forum.
I'm sure that Practical Caravan Magazine would be interested in seeing pctures of your camouflaged Coachman if you add some to a forum post.
A caravan is a great hotel room on wheels for the increasing number of 1940s re-enactment weekends, we go to some ourselves at times.

Welcome Spider, nice to see the picture of your outfit, and I am relieved to note not a solitary arachnoid in sight!!! A spine-chilling handle from an arachnophobic perspective, :( just don't come near me with any eight-legged hairy monsters!

Seriously - hope you enjoy the forum, there is nothing these guys don't know about, and you are joining at the best time ever, as we've now got a squeaky new website!
