Just to say Hi to you all. I already post on other forums, and have been caravanning for about 20 years. Just Me, Hubby and ancient Staffy, awaiting exchange of our Lunar clubman for a Dethleffs DL470. Can't wait to give it a trial outing.

We enjoy using CL's mostly, preferably adults only. I'm NOT anti-children, but I teach 5 year olds, and so I just prefer not to have them around when I'm on holiday. (I can hear the boo's and hisses from here!) I do believe in each to his own, what suits one doesn't suit enother, and that's the beauty of caravanning.

Hello there Mary Ross, welcome to the forum, may your stay be a pleasant one. You will find this forum slightly different to other sites; the Mods have a relaxed view to many posts, giving us flexibility in our posts. They do a great job, which can lead to entertaining reading, but (and I'm sure you wont) stepping over the boundaries is severely dealt with. You will find some of the old hands are willing to debate diverse subjects such as the 4x4 war and sometimes the 4x4 war, followed occasionally by the 4x4 war, just kidding! Our technical help people are second to none and advice can be sought from anywhere on the forum. Please take note of the Events, rallies and owners' clubs section, where there is a well-planned meet organised for Easter, you are most welcome to join in the fun.

All sense of humours are welcome, feel free to yours. 8o)

Mary we have brought up our three children and now have six grandchildren. They live about 1/2 a mile away so we see them regularly. We, like you, like to go away now and enjoy the peace and quiet but saying that have only used adult sites once. We have only been bothered with kids at 2 sites, Winchcombe and Llangors Lake and in both instances it would have put some off going where children are for good. Theres nothing to be ashamed off wanting to be on your own, I dont want to be like friends of ours who now virtually rear their 5 grandchildren while the childrens parents both go out to work. I see it that I'm in the Autumn of my life and whats left I'm going to enjoy with my wife, we have done our job of rearing. Some maybe think we are being selfish but to be honest if they do I dont give a monkeys ******** heheheh!

I must add I was buying milk today and was behind some boys buying sweets. The first boy didnt have enough money so caused the cashier a bit of a problem. That boy not only apologised to the cashier but apologised to me 3 times for keeping me waiting. His friend then insisted I went next, I said it was ok but he still insisted and he too apologised. I thought after how their parents would have been proud of them if they knew. It really gladdened my heart.

I will add my warm welcome and hope too meet many at the Easter meet.

When you get to know me you will realise that I have absolutely no sense of humour and like things to be ever so quite and peaceful so that I can get on with making a life size model of a Hummer out of discarded milk bottle tops and sticky backed plastic.

I never got my Blue Peter badge and I am still troubled by this - despite being awarded the PCV merit award for Kanga baiting and a bit of fishing.

( My goodness that must read very oddly to anyone new to this Forum)

Seriously tho - welcome.

This Forum is unigue in that it helps answer the techy points - which when I first started was INVALUABLE and then is open minded enough to give a pretty free reign to those who want a laugh.

Sadly some still want to provoke - but the Moddies are generaly on top of that.
