Hello

Hello everyone, we are new to caravanning. It has definitely been one of my husband's better ideas. We have an O4 vauxhall zafira and an elddis pamperos. We have been out twice already and are taking to family this week.... all 6 of us!!!

One question we have is that the stabliser (we have a stick one-not sure what it is called) and it is creaking terribly when we turn. Any ideas?

Hi Julie,

Welcome to the forum.

The creaking from the blade type stabiliser is caused by dirt/rust on the friction surfaces.

You may need to replace the two friction discs or you can take it apart and give it a clean. You will have to make sure the nut is tightened to the correct torque of which I cant remember but if you post the make etc under Technical I nam sure someone will know.

Good luck

Jim

While I agree the creaking is probably the friction disc, my expeience is that the nylon support for the blade can cause creaking - cured by a smear of silicon grease
