Hello all, I'm looking at buying my first caravan later this year for touring with my wife and son. Not keen on the rather small fixed "double" beds that seem to be all the rage so probably looking at something like a Bailey Rimini, but part of the reason for joining the forum was to soak up collective wisdom and decide on the best layout and van! My last experience of touring was about 25 years ago, dad pulled our aging van all the way from Devon to Inverness only for the A-frame to split in half on the A1 on the way home, strewing our belongings all over the carriageway - so if nothing else, I'm aware of the need for regular servicing! :cheer:

Hello Tufty, welcome to the forum
Hopefully you'll have better luck when towing than your dad :)
After finding out what sort of weight you can legally tow according to your vehicle specification and driving licence limitations it's a good idea to spend some weekends looking around dealers forecourts to see which layout you like best that suits your budget. Forum members are always happy to help with tips and advice so if there's anything you want to know, just ask

Welcome Tufty

There are numerous different layouts available.
It may worth your while looking at the Bailey series 5 Pageant Vendee.that had a full sized fixed bed at the rear transversely mounted. Loads of room.

Just remember there are lots of trade offs in caravan design so do take your time and look at as many as possible.

Hello, welcome to the forum. You can't beat spending time at a large dealership just getting in and out of vans and sitting on the seats and reclining on the beds, to help you get a clear idea of what suits you best. Have fun.
