Hello,
My name is Tony and my wife and I are looking to purchase a bailey unicorn cadiz next year. Just doing research before the fun begins.
Seems a very good forum with lots of knowledgeable caravanners.
Looking forward to picking your brains on all sorts of issues I am sure we will have.

Welcome Tony, and Mrs T. To the forum. Ask away about anything to do with the caravanning, and hopefully someone will have an answer, just don't go near to nose weight for a week or two.

No worries, like the banter. Like the Mrs sparky tag too. Seems to be a lot of comments on poor quality and the amount of money for new caravans.
Was intending to buy a bailey unicorn cadiz for around £19000 only because I want all the bells and whistles. Also intend to fit an air conditioner as the south of france is a certain destination.
As far as loading up the weight of the van with air conditioner , solar panel and motor mover, what is the deal with getting the plate changed on the van to show a higher value ??

Whatto and welcome. Hope you enjoy the forum even if some members are completely bonkers. No big deal to re plating for the weight. Bailey will charge about £60 from memory and you get a new sticker for the side with the new mtplm on it. On top of that a couple of other distinguishing MAX stickers. The issue is depending on the model whether it is worth it or not. Sometimes it's only a few Kg extra. In our case on the GT65 Turin it was the best part of 130kg which was a very useful bit of extra payload. You will need to watch how you go with all the extra kit you're planning so certainly looking into it is a good idea.

Thanks Martin,
Wow what did you add for that extra load ? think the AC unit is about 30kg or 40 kg and the motor mover about the same. Will be looking to get ATC and looking carefully at the nose weight. Thinking about the VW tiguan as the tow car, any thoughts ? Tony

With 5 of us and two dogs onboard it's easy to fill the van.

No idea on the VW as we've never been able to get down to that size of vehicle :( I would imagine there are going to be varying torque figures and kerb weights across the range so you may have to pick carefully and do plenty of research.

Hi Sparky, I like your username - it's been my nickname since I was a kid :cheer:
Welcome to the forum, the more research you do before you part with your money the less chance there is of you making an expensive mistake

Hi Parksy.
Yeah I am with you on that one. £19K is a lot of money to make a mistake on. Still we have a year to find out what we need to start . Obviously it is all a learning curve but we really want the adventures to start.
