Don't you have any particular area in mind?

What about France? but you wouldn't be able to take your dog on a French campsite though (they're banned).

An excellent site which ticks all your requirements is Widend in Marldon, Paignton. It is a family run site for families - no single sex parties. It is very central for Paignton, Torquay, Brixham and Totness and not too far from Dartmouth, Newton Abbot, etc. The dog walk is as far as you can walk, the toilets are immaculate, outdoor heated swimming pool, club house for occassional drinks with patio overlooking swimming pool, shop and part time take away. We have been going to this site for over 16 years and have never been disappointed.

Polmanter, Halsetown, near St Ives Cornwall ticks all your boxes.
Just Google Polmanter.
The dog walks are a series of fields, enough to wear out the springers so storm will be ok.
Excellent mountain bike rides, even has a little bus that brings you back up to the site from St Ives town!
Cosy pubs all near by including a local in Halsetown.
Panoramic views and fully serviced pitches are available. Spotlessly clean toilet blocks too.

Have a look at Sussex or Kent Jo, although I don't remember seeing any with a pool, bar static sites with facilities for tourers.

Don't go anywhere hilly if your'e planning on cycling!! North Yorkshire is a killer!!!

Hi Derek

I've just had a quick look and the French equivalent of the DDA has lifted the ban on purebred Staffords, this came into force in January this year.

Your site needs almost mirrors Hillhead exactly!!! We went for the first time this year. The veiws around Dartmouth and Dartmoor are fantastic. We are going back to Hillhead for New Year entertainment!!!
The only downside is that cycling is not really possible direct from the site, we drove down to Totnes, and cycled along the river from there.

Seacroft in Cromer is to us a smaller version of Hillhead, but I found the scenery around less impressive.
Cromer itself I found disappointing, I preferred Sherringham up the coast.

The road outside the site is not ideal for cycling (even though it is a local cycle route), but there is good cycling round two National Trust prperties near by.

I much prefer the two CC sites entertainment and food on offer to larger commercial sites we have been to, but you do have to get there early to eat inside at Hillhead, when we went is was not as bad in that respect at Seacroft.

Perhaps I am becoming too much of a fuddy duddy in my old age, but I am finding non club sites (or at least a Best of British site) a real turn off these days.

Good luck in your hunting.

Thanks Alan, went to look at

Thanks Alan, went to look at this site when we was last down there. its like in the middle of no where lol but thanks

Jo
Very odd what you say . Polmanter by road is only 1.9 miles from St Ives whilst only a mile across the fields on foot. Hillhead of course is 4.2 miles by road from Brixham. In the middle of nowhere???

What have you decided on?
