HELP - How do I

I have foolishley downloaded what I thought was cute emmotions (very sad I know) but turned out to be a bit offensive.
Incredimail - I have unistalled - But now instead of my usual google thingy now have MyStart and can't get rid of it.
Please can any one help. I have been on this darn thing for over 2 hours now - and getting nowhere fast.

I'm unsure of what you mean Carol but have you tried a System Restore back to a date just before you downloaded this thingy, emoticon I think you meant.
If you don't know how to do System Restore just ask and someone will tell you. Not difficult.

Click on the Windows symbol(bottom left) ,click on 'CONTROL PANEL', then look for and click on 'BACK UP AND RESTORE'.On the left hand side of the panel it says 'REPAIR WINDOWS USING SYSTEM RESTORE' .Click on 'NEXT' and follow the on screen prompts.The machine will turn itself off and restart.

Thanks very much for your help and instructions i.e. Control panel Back up and Restore.
Have done this twice tonight as first time some files could not be found ?
and also Windows was not responding to any programme or file. so I done it again.
Can open all files now - apart from internet - still getting MyStart comming up
and have lost all my favourite sites. including this one. I used date previous to the 1st.
December when I done this stupid thing., Think I might have to get some one professionaly
to do it for me. Thanks again. Carol

A system restore will, of course, do the job, but that is a rather drastic measure which could create a further problem if other (desirable) changes were made since the unwanted download. These could then also be irretrievably lost.
Usually, simply going into the internet options in the control panel and changing the default setting of the home page back to what it was before will be all that is required.

Hi Carol.

I found that website after a quick search, thought it might help. There's a lot of info about MyStart and also MySearch, both are related to incredimail. A program I use called Malwarebytes is very good at removing spyware/malware, it a free download and easy to use, so it might be worth a try.

There are other programs but some you have to be careful with. Seems a shame to have to pay a professional. I've cleaned out a lot of work colleagues computers in the past and I've only ever used free software to do it.
