help needed for water housing

Hi all

We took our van out for the 2nd time this weekend and yet again has not run smoothly as we were filling the water system up we could here water coming out else where. On inspection noticed that the water filter housing has a crack in therefore spraying water everywhere. Can any tell me are they easy to replace for beginners.

Also we were unable to get any tv, we have a status digital ariel and a tv built in freeview but could not get any picture, tried retuning and booster on but still no joy. Any ideas?

Thanks

Hello Tracey

The water filter housing is easy to buy/replace if your capable of that sort of thing, four screws holding it in 2 wires/screws for the pump and remove the pipes one to the filter and one to the pump, disconnect and replace in reverse order, also use new mastic around the housing, also when you replace the filter you can buy a filter remover but if you cut a groove in a piece of wood to the correct size of the filter you can remove it without cracking it,and when you replace it smear a little veg oil on the thread and replace carefully and do not over-tighten the filter, any problems and you live near Manchester leave a message and i will call and replace the filter housing for you.F.O.C

Hi Tracey,

The water housing is relatively easy to change.

Disconnect the water pipe, or pipes from the inside of the housing.

Make sure the 12v is isolated, take a clamp off the battery to ensure this.

Disconnect the electrical connections from the rear of the housing, and keep them separate.

Remove the screws from the outside of the van around the edge of the housing, then ease the housing away from the van, it is sealed in place with mastic so will need some pressure to get it moving, but take care.

Clean up the mastic still on the van, apply new mastic to the edge of the new housing, which you will have got from your local dealer, and replace in reverse order of removal.

As for the TV reception, it depends where you were, some places do not get a good enough signal to work.
