Hi folks

I know this has been asked to death ! but please advise me on what size of awning to buy.

We measured the awning rail as suggested by members on a level surface the rail measured 759cms, we are now unsure what size to buy. Would be grateful for your advice.

Kind Regards

Angela

Hi Angela,

First thing, to clarify how to measure your awning rail - the measurement is not just the awning rail but from the ground underneath the awning rail, up through and round the awning rail and back down to the ground at the other end. Apologies if that is what you have already done but it is not clear from your post.

What you then need to do is look at the options of the awning manufacturers that you are considering - they often have the size ranges for their awnings subtally different from each other. So manufacturer A might have awnings at sizes 600-675, 675-750 and 750-825; then manufacturer B might have 650-700, 700-750 and 750-800.

Ideally you would like an awning that has a size that is about the centre of the range eg your measurement is 759 and their awning fits 725-800. But if your measurement is at the cusp between your chosen awning manufacturer's sizes, say your measurement is 750 and they have two sizes 700-750 and 750-800 the general advice is to go for the larger size.

Cheers

Hello again Angela,

Yes, if your "awning A-measurement"** is 759 and the awning you are looking at is for caravans in the range of 751-775 then you have a match.

** since my original post I remembered that Isabella have a useful page on their website about how to measure the "A-measurement" and a database that covers quite a few caravans. Here is the link -
