Help please

We have just used our new to us 1996 swift conqueror. I was trying everything out for the first time and found a water leak in the showeroom which showed itself coming from the panel below the mixer taps. I found that the pipe to the shower/basin had come adrift. In order to make a repair I took the 4 screws out the mixer unit and tried to lift it out but it wouldn't come. I think the best way will probably to remove the shelf unit below the taps and have a go. Does anybody know how to get this unit out without damaging it please? Thank you, Paul.

I would have expected the removal of the four screws to be enough to allow the unit to lift out. Have you tried something like a small flat-bladed paint-scraper underneath the unit, just to "break the seal"?

Thank you Eddie. I managed to lift the mixer block so far but it would not come out of the hole because there was not enough clearance. I also think that the hot and cold pipes would not have enough slack either. I can't disconnect the pipes within the cabinet in order to give some clearance. Regards,Paul.

Just a thought Paul. Can you release the H & C pipes at say, floor level, eg. at "T" pieces, and lift the mixer unit out?

If you're really stuck, another solution might be to cut the pipes and rejoin them with straight connections & jubilee clips..

Thanks Eddy-I might have to do that. I will go back to the van this weekend well armed and hopefully make the repair. Cheers, Paul.
