Help we can't get our fresh water cap to come off!!

Hi folks!
I have a 2005 Swift Suntor and was going to disinfect my water system this morning. We were all ready to fill up the tank but we just can't get the water cap off!! It happened once before, but hubby got it off eventually. But not today!

In the meantime, we've just filled it up from the inside. So far, we've tried:
(1) using the key
(2) pushing and turning clockwise and anti-clockwise
(3) bashing it
(4) a couple of interesting swear words

Any suggestions??

Try using a pair of grips to turn it.

Try pouring hot water over it.
If it is turning both ways, the lock is stuck & hot water usually releases them.

But don't forget to ensure it is well dryed after or it's likely to freeze internally.
