help with battrey

hi we are new to caravaning and have a problem with battery power. we've been away 3 times each time using eletric hook up no problems. we will be visting a site with no hook up in 4 weeks so i thought i would check lights etc work when on battery power. the reading is in green area lights work ok but sockets don't have any power when tried pluging the kettle and no light came on fridge to show working from battery.

made sure in caravan position. the van is a lunar meteor (1995).

i hope i've made sense of our problem sorry if it's a silly question.

Your 13 amp plugs will only work when on mains hook up.

The fridge will not run on the van battery, but will when towing motor running, provided the fridge is selected to 12v.

I never use non hook up sites, just not worth the pain.

But if you must then use gas for the fridge, cooking etc.

Thanks Ray thought i was being blonde or so my o/h says.

Think in future we'll stick to sites with hook ups.
