HELP. We have just purchased a Navara to tow with. The problem we are having is Nissan are now saying you cannot put a detatchable swan neck towbar on to these. Does anyone tow with one of these. We have heard you can't get enough clearance for the alko thingy if you have a standard towbar. Is this correct?

Our van is a Baileys Pageant S 5.

Dawn,

When you have an Al-Ko Hitch Stabilizer, you are given the choice of using a Swan Neck Towball or an Extended Neck Towball, both of these towballs give the Stabilizer the required amount of clearance needed. A Standard Towball will not give you the clearance required, therefore if you can't use a Swan Neck, then you will have to fit the Extended Neck version,

hope this helps, Martin

Yes that helps, have spoken to them and they are getting a swan neck for us. One other thing, we are having 13 pin electrics are we likely to encounter any problems with this.
