:silly: Hi, I have just bought my first caravan for my 10 yr old and I to get out and about. Its a doer-upper so I'm hoping to be on the move in time for summer holidays when school is finished. I am totally new to owning a caravan so if anyone has any wise words, I'm all ears :D
I have four kids and 2 grandkids, I work from home and I have many interests so I rarely get bored! I'm divorced, outgoing and tee-total (due to medication mostly).
I'm all keen to get to know fellow caravaners :)

Hi Debs, welcome to the forum :)
The first things to check are the tyres, which may look ok but if they are over 5 years old they should be replaced because the side walls deteriorate to a point which renders them likely to puncture.
Look for a local mobile caravan engineer who will check the gas and electrical systems, the brakes and the hitch for a reasonable cost,Click Here for information on mobile caravan servicing.
If you have any questions about repairs etc it's best to post them on the technical message board where replies and information will be more forthcoming.
