hi all.
hope everyone is ok and doing well. should be Woosie meeting time soon. enjoy. shame I never got to meet you all.
ah well life goes on as they say.  my has it been that long  . I just popped on to see what's new in the world of touring vans. looking at the list of current topics pretty much just the same I guess.
a lot has happened since I was on here last. the boats built and floating on lake Windermere. bought an old static   in the lakes. and spent most of the milder winter weather up there doing it up. and keeping the woodworking skills up to date.
pretty much nearly there now. I had a passing thought to get another tourer an old one and sort it but that passed pretty quickly as all the old problems would reoccur. so went for a static far more practical for us [you never lose the urge it's in the blood] .
looking forwards to the summer in it and messing about on the water with the boat. although the lakes get busy at weekends and schools out. so will retire back home in those periods [one reason were back here for Easter] .
the bike building came to a stop when I bought the static. just not enough time to do them. I would rather be out there in the fresh air that's the main problem. :cheer: :cheer:.
anyway's that's enough form me. hope you all have a good year in the tourers. I'll pop off again now will try and not leave it so long next time.

see you. Colin.

Good to hear that aqll's well with you Colin. Which lake are you on?
Ads an ex-Lakeland boy, I try to get back as often as I can. In fact we stayed in the camper near penrith just a couple of weeks ago.
BTW, ole Breakwind looked in on here a couple of weeks ago. Seems to be OK.
Keep smiling Tyke!

Good to hear from you Colin aka Sir Chunky. Shame you never made a Woosifest but I still think I must have walked right past you at Pugneys four years ago this coming July!
Did the Lakes two years ago staying near Appleby.I have to say your immense knowledge and pearls of wisdom are missed on here.
Enjoy your boat and static.Hopefully no nose load issues with either ;)

Hello Colin, certainly sounds as if you're having a busy time of it. I think we're heading up to the lakes this summer. First time for about four years. Just need to pull our fingers out and get booked somewhere.

hi guys thanks for the encouragement. yes DD you could be right I used to spend a lot of time there. would not surprise me at all. to be honest I didn't think I would take to the static. been a tourer for so long. but it's grown on me while Iv'e had it in bits.
flipping cold up there in december. :cheer: :cheer: of course the sites closed from november to february so it was a BB on the cheap. then every day working on the van. it's only a 22 footer so not much bigger than the larger tourers suppose that's why I took to it.
we have mains water and sewage, gas is a large bottle. some previous owner thought it would be a good idea to fit solar panels on the roof. yeah but your supposed to seal it well.  the roof was wet and the floor and all down the left side. that all got ripped out and repaired so while it was gutted I changed the layout a bit to make it more wheelchair friendly.I didn't pay a very much for it owing the required repairs.
all I need now is to work out how to get one of the bikes up there and somewhere to store it. if the lakes are good for boats and and caravans. it's a wonderland for bikes      .
going back next monday for a couple of weeks to finish it off and get the carpets down. at least this time we can sleep in the van as it's no longer a empty shell.
