Hi, I'm Linda and my husband is John. We live in South Yorkshire and have been caravanning now for just over 20 years. We caravan at the moment in a Compass Omega 524 2008 model. We absolutely love caravanning and our two grown up children have both got into it as they have caravans as well. My children are Jason who is married to Zoe and are due to have their first baby anytime between now and the 10th of January. My other child is Jemma who is married to John and they have two children Alfred (Alfie) who is three and Isaac who will be one on the 1st of May this year (2011) We do a lot of caravanning between us, mainly taking part in (helping and exhibiting) Traction Engine rallies. My son has a 4inch scale Burrell Crane Engine which he exhibits at most rallies. My husband helps and exhibits a 4inch scale Fowler Water Cart, but he' having a Burrell built for him after all these years. My son-in-law John builds and supplies parts for the engines etc for a living JRME my son Jason also works with him. We've been into Traction Engine Rallies as long as we've been caravanning. We are also members of both the big caravan clubs where we like to use their temporary holiday sites and CL/CS sites. I also subscribe to Practical Caravan Magazine which is full of usefull information.
Well that's a bit about my family and myself. Look forward to hearing from other forum members.

Hi Linda & family, Happy New Year and welcome to Practical Caravan forum.
I'd imagine that you have some good times on your traction engine rallies, there was a travelling fair which still had one when I was a kid in the 1950s and I'd look at that rather than what was happening on the fairground.
The Black Country Living Museum near to where I live sometimes holds steam engine rallies and we've seen the late Fred Dibnah over there once or twice, he certainly liked his pint!

Fred ought to have been put in charge of the teaching of history in all schools, he made it come alive and his humour helped to get the message across.
