Hi having been the owner of a hobby caravan for 10 years I find I have what seems to be damp in the off back under the seats, as I have recently moved to the southeast of uk I wonder if anyone knows of a reliable caravan repair centre who deals with Hobys

Thank you.

If, as you say, the damp is under the seats, but there are no signs of damp anywhere close to an outside wall, it is unlikely to be water ingress from the outside but rather condensation under the seat cushions due to inadequate ventilation. However, condensation can also lead to mould. Best to have to cause checked by a dealer if you are not sure yourself.

If you look on the underside around the rear steadies and the floor is soft, this is a known problem.

Where the rear plastic valance joins to the floor there are 2 or3 drainage slots intended to keep water away from the wooden floor.

These drainage slots can become blocked with debris.

The real solution is to remove all the screws that fix the valance to the floor and using longer stainless steel screws, insert 10mm spacers between the valance and the floor.

This provides drainage the full width of the rear.

Allow the floor to dry out without poking it around too much and you may get away with it.
