Honda CRV Diesel warning

Just thought this may help anyone with the above vehicle like myself.
I have just taken mine (2.2 TCDI 06 reg)into my local Honda dealer for repairs.
For the past few weeks,I have noticed a slight loss of power, increase in fuel consumption and a strong smell of fumes when the fan is on.
It turns out that I have a loose fuel injector.
The mechanic explained that I have been lucky as he was able to take out the injector along with the sealing ring, clean it up,and when the new sealing ring and small high pressure pipe arrives tomorrow,re-install it.
He said Ive been lucky because occasionally, they are unable to save the injector and have to buy a new one at a cost of(wait for it)£300!!!
Although he said its rare for the injectors to work loose,it can be a costly repair.
Its still going to be about £200 with the diagnostic check and labour but could have been much worse.
If you think you may have the same problem, just take the plastic engine cover off the top,(only 4 nuts)and check for carbon/deisel deposits around the injectors.
Hope this may save someone some money in the future.
Adrian

I'd also ask the mech whether its worth changing the oil. In some cars, when the sealing washer goes at the base of the injector, the exhaust fumes find their way into the oil and gunge it up.
