honda crv

Hope you are all keeping well and enjoying the sun !!!!!

I have just been given a curtosy car namely a honda crv 4x4 2.2 diesel .

I am taking my compass rallye away to brean a week on sunday can any one give me an idea as to how well these 4x4's tow as i have never towed with a 4x4 before.

I bought a CRV 2.2 Diesel a few months back and have now been away on two trips towing my Swift Charisma. I found the Honda to be a superb towing vehicle and you should have no problems. I got 32mpg out of it with the van at around 1,200kg. One word of caution - The Honda has a six speed manual box and it does take a bit of getting used to.

Just been out in this as the wife has been hogging it for a few days. Its a lovelly car and im very impressed with it . Iwill agree that the 6 speed box takes some getting used to tho. I will look forward to towing with this next sunday. M y appologise however its not a 4x4........

Darren, I changed out my petrol CRV for the diesel one in January. It is a really good tow car and I get about 30mpg towing and over 40 solo.

I have been on muddy rally fields and have had no problems, the 4 wheel drive kicks in quicker than the earlier model. I can tow in 6th gear on the flat but of course have to change down as the gradient gets steeper.

The relaibility of my previous CRV was fantastic, no faults at all in 60,000 in 3 years. this ones seems to be going the same way but I've only done 7000 miles so far.
