How do I place an advert for something other than a caravan ?

Despite having been registered with this Forum for over 6 years, it seems I have to re-register all over again to place an advert and, furthermore, I can't use my normal email address, as the form tells me this is already in use and refuses to go any further.

So get another email address and try again. This time the form gets rejected for passords being the wrong length, not putting in the county ( although they have the post code - why the duplication ?) and wrong sort of user name - I'd used the same one I use for this forum.
Eventually all gets registered but then it has to get validated by email to me, containing a key which ran to two lines of characters - surely cant have that many people registered ?

Some time later, i try to place an advert, but the only category I'm offered is 'Caravan' wit a fairly limited list of makes to choose from. No mention of motor vans or, the one I wanted, accessories.
Anyone able to help ? I can always contact the Haymarket contact but based on past experience this is not likely to produce a reply very quickly and I need to get on with placing the advert.

If the webmast happens to read this, can I suggest the whole process is far too complicated - at least show how many characters are required for passwords, user names etc. on the forms.

Hi Ray
I contacted Angela the Haymarket brand manager recently about the problems and difficulties involved in advertising caravans and the management are fully aware that problems exist which hopefully they will be able to address in the near future.
I've been asking for a forum section in which unwanted accessories could be advertised for a couple of years but unfortunately my requests have fallen on stony ground.
It's possible to place free adverts in Practical Caravan magazine.
I'm really sorry that I can't be of more help but I will bring your comments to the notice of Angela on Monday.

Thanks for your efforts Steve, unfortunately I've been left with quite a lot of stuff from a chum who has now given up caravanning which I need to shift quickly, so can't really wait for the free ad. in the magazine.
This website is not alone in this respect - the CC one is nearly as bad, but i did manage to get one placed there. Makes you wonder if web designers ever 'test drive' their own products by trying to use them - perhaps they need a group of experienced people who could try a 'beta' version for them before it is released on the general public.
Trust you are enjoying the 'summer'. Regards, Ray

Hi Ray
The weather has brightened up a wee bit this afternoon here in the Midlands and I wish that we'd taken the chance to go on a weekend rally.
If you want to sell your unwanted accessories fairly quickly a good free advertising website is Preloved which has a caravan / accessory section.

Try www.preloved.co.uk as I have had good results on there.
