Have you tried either of the main Clubs, they have training programmes and you have the opportunity of being a deputy warden to gain experience before taking on your own site.

Rob,

believe me when i say that i am HONESTLY not trying to be arrogant or cocky when i say this but below is a segment of your original post.

When applying for any job it is imperative that care is taken with the presentation, grammar and spelling.

experience and ladder are spelt incorrectly and BELIEVE me , little points such as this count a lot when going through initial job applications.

Every computer has a spell check facility.

"You dont get a second chance to make a first impression" is a good moto to abide by.

Keep applying and good luck. Darryl

You have missed the apostrophe in don't and Moto should read Motto.

ever heard the saying about people who live in glass houses?

best regards, Martin

There are often 'warden' jobs offered by sites advertising in the back of the Caravan Club magazine. I don't know if you're members, but if not I'd be quite happy to post my next magazine on to you if you're interested, or alternatively to have a look through and see what jobs are being advertised.

Following on from Happy Larry's comments, (LOL!), Darryl please start sentences with a capital letter. Your punctuation is terrible.

Rob

Two years ago I met a retired couple who had booked a seasonal pitch at one of the Club sites. They were regulars and would spend time helping the Wardens free of charge. In the end the Club did employ them and I believe they are now Assistant Wardens.

So , just a thought , that was the route they took to achieve their goal.

Good luck

Cheers

Hi Rob, my wife and I used to be volunteers with the Caravan Club for a number of years with a view to applying to be wardens. In the end it did not work out for us due to ill health. Volunteering gives you a great insight into the running of the sites and we both very much enjoyed it. It also gets you on the bottom rung of the ladder and therefore a better chance should you wish to take it further.

Hi Rob,

The easiest way,is to apply to the C&CC,they have a high turnover of staff, and are always looking for Holiday site assistants. It is hard work with long hours and you will work more hours than you will actually get paid for.The training consisted of two days at head office being taught how to use the computer and the booking system. You will also have a couple of days of general chit chat and the allocation of sites and length of contract from 3months to 5 months,as far as I recall none failed the selection process.

Many thanks all for your replies.

I posted the original post as I was running out of door so apologise for the spelling lol,but still a valid point about first impressions I do however do a full spell check on the emails I have been sending.

Maybe I should contact the caravan club (yes I am all ready a member) and look towards becoming a volunteer.

Will keep you all posted with how we get on

Thanks rob

Rob,

last year, whilst at Gilling West, i spoke to a guy and his wife who had recently retired as CC wardens.

Basically, on first retiring from their main job's they just applied on spec to the CC, were invited for an interview and subsequenrtly spent a very happy 10 years doing the job that you would like.

Give it a go and just keep trying. Good Luck for the future. Darryl
