How easy is it to replace a blind cassette

Have one on order, is it something that is easy to do or should I take the van in to get it done? (the van is not local to the place I bought it) however it is being replaced as we noticed a light tear in the corner where the fabric meets the plasic on Saturday when we got our new (2004) van home. I am impressed that this is being swopped (along with a few other minor issues) with the place that we bought the van from...

Not sure if I get the whole cassette or just the blind less the fly screens? It is an Abbey van.

Hi Paul & Ruth

I fitted blinds all round in my last caravan as they weren't fitted as standard. I think that they were held on by 4 screws each, so providing you can get to them they should be easy to replace. Just be careful that you don't over tighten them as they are only screwing into thin board and can easily strip the 'thread' in the hole. I've currently got a Sterling and have had to replace several of the screws with oversized ones as the ham fisted monkey who fitted them at the factory has stripped the holes, and so the blinds have come loose and in some cases fallen off.

The only thing that you may have to do if you are getting new blinds is to cut each side of the frame to the required length. But this is easily done with a hacksaw or craft knife and full instructions should be supplied.

Have fun.
