Seeing the subject thought I'd have a look at our mileages, (wife keeps the log, can go back as far as 93, but there was another 16 years before that when she didn't log 'em.) hadn't realized 'til just put the data together how much reduction to nights away had taken place over last few years for us. Mind you we have changed our style of vanning to less weekends and longer stays without so much touring.

I don't tow as many miles per year as I used to. Now it's between 2 and 3 thousand. I've kept a log book ever since I started caravanning 54 years ago and looking at it I see my highest towed mileage was in 2003 when we did 8653 miles. My total for the 54 years is 144,032 miles. Should you be interested, you can see it here: https://jondogoescaravanning.com/fifty-years-of-caravanning-my-log-book/

It varies enormously. Probably thousands most years but we keep no records. The highest was probably when we towed down to Plymouth from Glasgow for the Santander ferry and towed in Spain and France but several European trips have run up big mileages as we tend to break up the trips down South as well.
Last year all in UK visiting England and South Wales so probably between 2 and 3,000 miles.

That's a hell of a record, GG! You've beaten us for nights out with your 193 in 2005. The most we ever did was 187, in 2010, I think, when we went to Sweden and South East Germany. We were out for 14 weeks on that trip alone
Must try harder this year, only done 16 nights so far.

This'll be 1st. January for years we haven't been out in the van somewhere. But looking out the lounge window now at the snow & the van, can't say I'm sorry (N. Lincs) should have been in Derbyshire this w/e near the daughters for birthday celebrations (ours) but took note of weather forecast earlier in the week and thought we would give it a miss. Getting soft in our old age! Leave the bravery to others these days! (Piped services take some beating, settle down and watch the snooker now)

Yep!!! Got it right.

I feel like a positive fledgling next to some of you lot! A pathetic 32 nights managed last year (although we do have to fit it around work and family life). Mileage was slightly more impressive at an estimated 3500 including Nottinghamshire, North Yorkshire (twice), Dorset, Ireland, Northumberland, West Wales, Wiltshire and Edinburgh. There's no way we'd have done all that touring if we'd had to pay for B&Bs or hotels.
