How many of us have had tap problems this year? Whale and most dealers seem to be out of stock and all report masses of problems.

Is it just Whale.

With modern Thurmo-plastic materials Its hardly rocket science stopping them breaking (or is it)

I smell design obsilesence from the start. Or are caravans no longer designed to get cold.

Maybe a Manufacturer would like to comment after all they chose them as original equipment.

Last winter we had prolonged spells of below zero temperatures. A lot of caravanners don't read their handbook, or ignore it, so don't drain down their water systems properly consequently this spring there's high demand for replacement taps which have been frost-damaged.

I got caught in 2000/01 as I hadn't left the kitchen mixer tap open in the mid-temperature position even though I'd carefully drained the system down - I'm much more careful now.

If caravan manufacturers employed engineers who "test drove" their products in a "normal" British climate, this situation wouldn't happen - we still have a lot of work to do to drag the caravan industry into the 20th century!
