I was reading my handbook the other day, and it suggests torquing the wheel nuts on my Compass Van to 115Nm?? Surely such a high value would be impossible to the average caravanner?? Any thoughts??

If my conversions are correct 115 Nm equals 82 foot pounds. I cannot understand what a Newton meter even looks like whereas a foot pound is obvious.
Alko normally recommend a torque of 65 ft/lbs for steel wheel studs but this could be higher if you are using alloys. The alloy wheels on my Volvo are torqued to 95 ft/lbs. A good torqu wrench should be able to reach those numbers.

115Nm is not unreasonable, and if the hand book says check to that torque then so be it.
Most torque wrenches are markes up with Imperial and meric units so it is easy to make a comparison between the two.
Dont guess the setting by hand, do it properly with a torque wrench - modern wheels and nuts can distort and become dangerous if the nuts are incorrectly tightened.
