How old are my tyres?

Following all the recent items in the press recently regarding tyres, age of said and blowouts I thought I would check mine to see how old they are. They are the originals fitted to the van when we purchased it new in 2005.

Now I'm confused.

My tyres are made by Hankook and have the code: DOT T7W0 JM H on them. They do not have any extra numbers at the end of that sequence.

On the Hankook website (I could only find the Austrailian site) it states that my tyres should have a date code.

Can anyone shed any light as to how old these tyres are?

DOT T7W0 JM H is the dept of transport mark and does not contain the date.

Look for a series of numbers such as 0903 (9th month 2003) or 359 (35th week 1999)

Roger,

Look for a small oval with four digits inside - the first two digits are the week number, followed by the year number - so something like 3304 would be week 33 of 2004.

And I'd guess your tyres would pre-date the caravan by up to six months...
