While we was away for the B/H staying at one of the C.C site, looking forward to peace and quiet, well it was during the day till evening came, two motorhome next to each other having a sing song drinking beer, That fine, But not after 11pm at night still singing well in the night at the same time their two dogs was howling along with them,

The other one was every body was a sleep in their van till one member sould have left this car in the car park, so no what did he do drive all the way thro the site to this van and woke few people up at that time of night it was 1.15pm in the morning

C.C Member don't take any notice of the C.C rule any more,

After 11pm till 7am no movement of any car and no noise,

But Please keep your speed down on the C.C site it say 5 mph,

What do you think? Trevor

You are of course assuming they were indeed CC members. It is possible they were not as the CC allows all the 'riff raff' of the day in to most of their sites anyway.

Personally, I have found the older they are usually the worse they are. From speeding motorised scooters to drinking and yattering to all hours. The wife invariably has to tell me to shut up.

Wait till they go to bed drunk then let the tyres down, no real consolation but maybe make you feel better !!!
Tut tut. Bad behaviour on the part of one person does not justify bad behaviour on the part of another.

Trevor,

Can you please say which caravan Club site you were on?

Did you complain to the wardens and if so what was their response?

How far was this taking place from the wardens compound or flat?

If you did complain to the wardens and did not get any satisfaction from them, then i would put your complaint in writing to Head Office.

Not sure about the idea of letting the tyres down but how about waiting till they are asleep then throwing bird seed onto the roof of the motor home for the tap dancing dawn chorus effect?

Why stop at bird seed. Throw a lot of bread with scraps of fish. Hopefully it will attract the gulls and cover the roof of their van with gull dumps. If the gulls don't appear you will have the satisfaction of the fish rotting and creating a stink wherever they go :O)

The sort of people being complained about will probably be dead to the world until 10am and be unaware of a battalion of troops marching over the roof of their motorhome or half a ton of farmer Giles manure in the middle of it.

The only these w+++++'s understand is a direct complaint.

Gates to sites should be locked if you are not meant to drive on to the site after a certain time. It's not difficult to stop vehicles getting on to sites, plenty of sites manage it, so why can't the club sites?

Personally unless the celebrating is every night, i can't see the problem?

Occasionally we party with friends, have a few too many, and i'm sure the sound level must increase as the drink flows.

If i recall we once partied up to 1pm, before staggering back to our own van. Its not a regular event we don't drink much usually.

Although we are CC members we have only ever used a main site, so i suppose we come under the riff riff category?

But every site we have been on, at some time or another we have been disturbed, sometimes with ball games in the day, loose dogs roaming, anglers setting up to fish in the early hours, cars leaving and arriving, drunks returning from the site pub, etc.

But that's what touring is all about isn't it? Different neighbours, some good, some bad, so stop whinging.

Quote from above ...

"If i recall we once partied up to 1pm, before staggering back to our own van. Its not a regular event we don't drink much usually".

That may be a good thing that you don't drink that often or maybe you SHOULD drink more often for practice because you obviously can't regulate your consumption or how you behave afterwards :O) Just an observation you understand ;O)

First and foremost you should remember you are on a campsite and not at home. Trevor said he was on a C.C. site not a site like Haven where they have bars. If people onsite, like Trevor, didn't mind being woken or stopped from sleeping by p*$$heads no doubt they would have used a site like Haven as well.

It's not a case of whingeing as you say, it's called considering others :O)

So you have a one off once in a while noisy on site party one night and then someone else does the same the next night and then the gang on the next roadway 70 metres away has a little bash the 3rd night and so on and so on.

Well in case no one has told you Ray.

THAT IS ANTI SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR AND THOUGHTLESS.

Unless the whole site wants to party until one in the morning you should be respectful of others sleep patterns and so should the fisherman and drunks etc.

hi all

The people you refer to just don't care about anybody else the attitude seems to be were on holiday so we will do what we like most unpleasant. the trouble is most of us fall into this catagory on occasions. I will give you an example:- while on a site in dorset we had two vans one either side that were obviously connected in some way with all the comings and goings that went on, most of the time using the 3ft space at the back of our van as a walkway, first night party in first van broke up 1.30am second night party in second van broke up 1.00 am third night nothing in bed by 11pm so I said to the wife I'm going fishing in the morning; so up at 5am tackle in the car with a few slamming doors filled the water empty waste ect; started the car without using heater plugs took ages then left the car running for about 15 mins before setting off. all on purpose I thought well if I cant' get to sleep on a night then your not on a morning. job done well happy.

when I got back from fishing about 2 pm one of the vans had left, the wife then told me she had heard two women talking in the toilet block who were at the other side of the field I quote" what a terrible site this has become only been here 3 nights first two nights parties going on till late then this morning some prat woke us up at 5am, some people have no thought for others at all."

and it's true in an attempt to get at the neighbours I had forgot about every one else on site, "guilty as charged M-lud"

Haven is mentioned in one of the posts above and this is the problem with generalising. We have just come back from the Haven site in Burnham on Sea and they have bars and so on. However, in the touring caravan area there was absolutely no noise after 10.30ish and everyone respected everyone elses peace and quiet. Could have done with an air gun for the gulls though!

I get up early and go cycling.

I even always hold the zip sliders tabs so they don't make that jingling noise and I shoulder the bike until clear of the caravans as do my companions. If we go surfing in the early morning we do the same creeping off site and walking on grass if we can rather than crunching along gravel. Apart from not wanting to wake others on site I wouldn't want to wake my wife or our grandchildren.

If we have to go off early in the morning we leave the car outside the sites barrier. The vast majority of continenetal sites we use have the barriers locked, you just can't get in or out.

We have a few drinks and can get a bit larey at times, but a caravan and camping site with chidren and people of a wide age range and differing ideas on enjoyment is not the place for that!

If you want to be partywise Loud, do it at home in the pub or on some deserted beach or something or go to a site with club house and entertainment away from the campers.

If you can't have a few drinks without realising that chattering loudly and in a hyper manner and stumbling about noisily trying to find your way across the site in to your caravan or tent is bad anti social behaviour and showing no respect for others then maybe the streets of Magaluf or a seedy noisy hotel town is the place for you.

I've yet to see a romantic ad exec's description of a site designed to attract custom that includes

"Tranquil site set in a quiet picturesque valley by a babbling brook complete with a smattering of drunks to annnoy you and keep you awake half the night followed by a dawn chorus of slamming car doors and engines starting as lone fishermen head off for the kill"

Hi All, The Club site is called The Covert, we did report it to the warden and other club member report before us, Yes so next time any thing happen like this, we will get our own back by taking bird seed and throw them on the roof of the van/motorhome

We all like to let our hair down from time to time but not after 11pm, it bad enough me getting up for work at 4am every morning, Trevor

In all the years we have been touring, we have never had a complaint against us, or made one against some one else.

When we had the children with us, sometimes we were the victim of a frisbee or ball, then i would sound my displeasure to those concerned. That's part and parcel of touring?

As we mainly use CLs, thank fully we don't have the CC "type" adjacent, who it appears from the posts above, think that you should be tucked up in bed at eleven. Get a life!

Jog my memory RAY, isn't there a C.C. ruling about noise after 11pm or are you one of a handful who doesn't think it applies to you? I have a life thanks and need my beauty sleep to see in another day :O) Besides, at that hour my Viagra has worn off and my Horlicks is kicking in.
