The caravan owner was very fortunate that his neighbour was in the right place at the right time. An alternative would be to get an Alsation or other such dog and keep them in the van whilst it is on the drive. A neighbour has a sign on her window "Beware Poisonous Snakes" - to date no problems from theft at all - seems to work as other neighbours have had break-ins.

We have had warnings about dogs being stolen and held to ransome, so dog in Caravan may not be a smart move.

A friends wife refused to stay on a CC site as a nearby van hah "beware of the snake" on it. They were to scared to ask the owner if it was true as he was about 2 mtrs tall and had a tee shirt with a snake on it to.

Read the write up in the "Daily Mail" it would seem the Police are taking NO or VERY little ACTION. I am coming round to the conclusion that Caravan Insurance is such a good profit maker for Insurance companies. That they don't care how many vans are stolen they will still make money !!!!!. The C&CC and the CC don't seem to be very proactive in preventing Caravan theft either, ie when you book a site you need to provide your CRIS document number or something along those lines. This is not rocket science.A multi million pound organisation should be able to come up with some ideas.
