This is difficult to answer truthfully. The prices seem to be on average much higher than other routes. I used to use it a lot, but not in recent times. The service was always good, but I am going back to the days when it was the original 'North Sea Ferries' not P%O.

Hi.

I have a friend who booked for next June with the Caravan Club and got a really good deal, cannot remember the exact amount but he was well pleased. He actually phoned the Club and asked for special deals on this route.

We used this route for the first time in May of this year. I have got fed up of the long drag down to Dover from the East Midlands. We got a good deal from the Caravan Club, but cannot remember the exact price (about

We often use this route and book through the Caravan Club. Although it is more expensive than Dover/Calais we find it convenient to avoid the journey to Dover and usual hold-ups.

We use this route a couple of times a year. We live in Durham so it is only just over a 2 hour drive to Hull. We can set off early afternoon and have a steady drive to Hull. Once on board we used to get a snack fron one of the small cafes but now we go for an evening meal.

There is plenty to do on board - bars, entartainment, casino, cinema etc. After a good nights sleep we go for breakfast, which normally keeps us going all day!

It is nice to arrive in Belgium at about 8 in the morning so a full days travelling is easy to do. We can normally get half way down France in one day.

I got a quote for a crossing at the end of July (start of school holidays) departing Hull on a Saturday and returning on a Saturday 2 weeks later for 2 adults with a 7.3m van and it was about

I would agree with all of what Graeme has said. We use it every year in September/October. Travel on a weekend crossing as the van goes free and expect to pay around

I have been reading the postings re Hull - Zeebrugge. We travelled twice last year using this crossing and was told on both occasions that caravans went free at weekends. not so.

On arriving on the first crossing our van was measured and found to be 6.1 metres. Please pay

When you book the crossing it asks for your van length, so if you have told them the correct length then I can't see how they can charge you more when you arrive at the port.

I am concerned about this extra charge made for longer caravans.

We left Hull on the 9th of May this year with our Sterling Europa which is 6.91 metres long. We were not charged any supplement. We returned from Zeebrugge on 14th of June, again we were not charged any supplement. Altogether we were on the continent for 35 days. We booked through the CC Travel service.

Their costs (ferry and 24 nights site fees plus Red Pennant insurance at

This debate about the crossing had me thinking about the "Free Caravan" and just back from testing out the quotes with various length vans for Saturday crossings it is now clear that the free bit only applies up to 6 meters. I have been crossing this way for years but as they no longer print prices I wasnt aware of the limit and have just been paying what the CC site or call centre quote. A crossing for my outfit 7.1m, out in August back in October, weekends each time is

if you do go this route you will enjoy the trip and also it's a good way to end your holiday----but mind and take a extra pillow for each of you, as the pillow's supplied are very basic

I have just booked this route again and had something of a suprise in the process. Worked out the cost on the CC internet booking site, being most careful with the dimensions.

Because I also wanted to book meals I then rang the club and asked for a quote.

Thanks for all your help I booked the site through the camping and caravan club as I saved 70 pence compared to the caravan club with their price match it worked out a lot cheaper than P&O the saving covered the site fees plus a pound .

thanks again

Andy
