Our first van was a 2002 plated Hymer Swing and that got us hooked for life. With the OH having problems with the over-cab bed we swapped for a different layout three years ago, a 2-berth Swift. Although we both love the new layout I miss the quality of build that the Hymer provided us.

Enjoy using your Sing to the full.

Funny you should say that about the over cab bed, Firstly let me say I have Bladder cancer so using the bed is a no no so we convert the lounge and use the over cab as extra storage . Not safe you say well everything up there is boxed then having the memory foam mattress and the king size quilt over the top along with the curtained pulled everything travels safely....... The Swing is a 5 birth so with just us 2 and the dog ( a toy poodle ) there is plenty of room to move

Probably the worst thing you have done Pete&Marg. Once you buy a Hymer, almost everything else seems inferior unless you can afford to go even further up market. The Swing is a great van. The design is superb.

Unlike Bernie C we followed up two Swifts with a Niesmann & Bischoff Arto [when they were modestly priced] and subsequently two Hymers.

Our Hymer was a 494 so only a 4 berth. We could have made up the bed in the lounge and live with it that way but we found that once the lounge double was made up it was almost impossible to use the toilet during the night.

I don't have any issues with using the over-cab as additional storage as long as one is sensible about what is placed up there.

We do like our Swift and we have spent a lot of time in it with our longest touring jaunt being five weeks covering 3000 plus miles. However I still catch myself thinking along the lines " On the Swing the fitting of the ......."

Make full use of your Hymer's capabilities Pete and Marg and enjoy every minute.

Had a new Chausson back in 2006, Sold It, Built a pool, Missed the freedom of a Camping-car and bought an antique Hymer. not that i'm biased or anything  but I know which van will outlast the other.
