Can anyone point me to distributors for Hymer touring vans (Not motorhomes) please. The PC "Buying New" site link relates only to motorhomes.

Has anyone any views on Hymer caravans against, say, Burstner ?

looking for a fixed bed single axle van just for two.

West Country location.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Ray

The UK distributor for Hymer caravans in Lowdhams leisureworld. Their nearest location to you is Reading.

Website link: http://www.lowdhamleisure.com/

We have a Hymer 545DB - fixed double bed, and it is super! The construction means that the walls are the equivalent of a 17" brick wall, and coupled with full blown air central heating gas or electric or combined and on-board hot and cold water tanks meant that we enjoyed some great winter holidays.

Of course everyone thinks that their own choice is best, but for us Hymer has been a dream. Plus points include carpeting that is easy to remove and clean leaving a laminate floor that was excellent for holidays in hot weather. Three burner hob and compact oven with rotisserie and grill - why do British manufacturers still insist on full size cookers? Brilliant build quality - check out windows and Heiki roof light. We spent six weeks in France last year, and intend to do the same again. Would we buy another - most definitely yes, but as Lowdham have insisted that Hymer move to the full size cooker, and put the door on the "right side" for the UK we are looking at buying from Germany as we spend more time abroad than in the UK - and the price is cheaper!

This is the Hymer website, click on the Union flag for British spec and one of the others to see continental spec.

PS - You can find used Hymers via German caravan dealers, and sometime on e-bay!

Hi Ray, we have a Hymer 570, we have only had her for 2 weeks, but she is the best caravan we have had!

The build quality is unbeatable! we caravan all year round too, so the extra insulation really helps.

We wouldn't go back to a british van again!

Best wishes, Andrew & Sally.
