I made my own three tread steps

I have read the messages about the three tread steps and decided to inform you how I made my own.

Our daughter is disabled and cannot manage two tread steps, also a lot of manufactured steps have a very small area on each tread and we needed at least 12" back to front with a width of 20" for stability, each step has a height if 5.5" giving equal distance to the caravan floor when level (floor level 22" from ground).

They are made from welded lightweight steel tubing with exterior grade plywood treads, each tread has a non-slip tape stuck on. all painted and stained the steps look good and have been commented on by other caravanners with mobility difficulties. Being made from steel they are solid but not over heavy.

I have to say that we could not manage without them, I fitted a Fiamma security rail to the door side which acts as a handrail.
