Hello everyone!
Well, I've never joined a forum before! I've got a Swift Challenger 480SE. Bought it last year. Never towed anything before this. My Mum and I travelled through France and down to Torrevieja, Spain last Autumn. We had a fantastic time! Not many 77 and 52 year old ladies cruising along with a caravan on tow I can tell you! We also bought SatNav. That too, was an experience..... It took us up the Alps.... YES, THE ALPS!! We actually had people coming out of their houses to watch us passing through their little hamlets!
But we live to tell the tale and look forward to our next adventure!

Hello JacquieO & mum. Welcome to the forum, both of you. Crikey - what an adventure indeed. Worthy of doing an article in Practical Caravan Magazine eh? Well done both of you and many more adventures. Happy caravanning!

Hi,
Did you find the towing easy to get used to. I'm on my own but would love to tow a van for just me and the dog but am worried if it's difficult for a woman to manage alone. You obviously managed with just your mum, what advise would you give if any
Thanks

Hi Jacqui and welcome to the Practical Caravan forum.
Congratulations on buying your caravan and on deciding to join this forum where you can share your experiences and pick up tips to help you to use your caravan to the best advantage.
Many of us have been caught out by the sat nav when towing, it usually helps to have a look at Google Earth and to print off your chosen route beforehand. This helps you to ignore the insistent ( but wrong!) instructions from 'Jane' who often tries to send you along the worst possible route when you've got the caravan in tow.
