A couple of weeks ago the insurance for the caravan was due.This time i decided to spend some time to try and get the best deal i could.Not just the cheapest.Its actually amazing to see what discounts are on offer.Discounts for various safety devices,age,tracking systems,club manouvering courses.I explained that although my husband hadnt completed a manouvering course, he is a hgv driver with 30 years experience and a clean driving licience.this counted for nothing.It seems that 30 yrs of hitching,reversing,manovering ,loading,driving both here and abroad didnt entitle him to any discount.While i can appreciate both clubs courses are valuable surely experience should also be recognised.Come on insurance companies get real.
 
a lot of these firms only give discount from an inflated price in the first place ,another thing they ask is what was your last quote , i wont tell them ,i am asking them for a quote , then they normally ask whats the value of the vehicle , i just say how do i know i am not a car or caravan salesman you tell me , you must have a good idea insuring hundreds of units, you didnt hear of many insurance companies going under during the reccesion ,
